OUR
STORY

Dear Families, Individuals, Staff, and Community Supporters,

When I founded CRB Services in 2015, I never intended for it to become “just another provider.” I built this company around a simple belief: individuals with disabilities deserve more than supervision, paperwork, and routine programs. They deserve opportunity, dignity, purpose, compassion, and a team that truly sees them as individuals — not numbers on a schedule.

What began as a vision has grown into something far greater than I ever imagined. Through every stage of growth, one thing has never changed: the heart behind this organization.

I did not build CRB Services to become the biggest provider. I built it because I genuinely care about people.

I wanted individuals to feel seen, heard, respected, supported, and capable. I wanted families to feel comfort instead of uncertainty when trusting someone with their loved one’s care. And I wanted our staff to understand that this work is not “just a job,” it is an opportunity to positively impact someone’s life every single day.

As we continue to grow, we are intentional about growing with purpose. We believe staying personally connected matters. It allows us to know the individuals we serve by name, understand their goals, recognize their struggles, celebrate their victories, and create programs that genuinely change lives.

Every service we provide is built around real-life outcomes: building confidence, increasing independence, encouraging meaningful community involvement, developing life and employment skills, helping individuals discover purpose, pride, and self-worth, and creating opportunities that lead to long-term success.

At CRB Services, we believe structure creates stability. We believe consistency builds trust. We believe accountability creates quality care. And above all, we believe relationships are the foundation of everything we do.

Families are never “just another case.” Individuals are never “just another participant.” And our staff are never expected to simply go through the motions. We strive to create an environment where people feel supported, respected, encouraged, challenged, and truly valued.

I have remained personally involved throughout this journey because I never wanted CRB Services to lose that family feeling. Leadership should never feel distant in this field. The people we serve deserve compassion, creativity, accountability, innovation, and programs that continue evolving to meet real-life needs not simply minimum standards.

Our goal is not only to provide services. Our goal is to create opportunities, experiences, confidence, independence, and futures that people can genuinely build upon.

That is why we continue expanding. That is why we continue developing innovative programs focused on real-world learning and life skills. And that is why we continue pushing beyond the traditional model of care.

Because at the center of everything we do is one core belief:

The individual comes first. Always.

To every individual, family member, staff member, and supporter who has trusted us throughout this journey, thank you for being part of something that means so much to me personally.

With gratitude,

Darla Blough
Founder, CRB Services

SNYDER'S KITCHEN

Snyder’s Kitchen is inspired by Kevin Snyder, one of CRB’s earliest individuals and a true example of resilience and growth.

Kevin has been a dedicated employee in the kitchen at McDonald’s in Duncansville, building strong work skills and confidence over the years. But his journey didn’t stop at employment.

After relying on his mother for care his entire life, Kevin faced a life-changing transition when she moved into a nursing facility. For the first time, he had to learn how to live independently.

With the support of the CRB team, Kevin took on one of his biggest challenges — cooking for himself. Through patience, practice, and persistence, he has nearly mastered this skill both in his workplace and in his own home.

Snyder’s Kitchen represents independence, growth, and the courage to learn something new at any stage of life. Kevin’s story reminds us that employment is not just about a paycheck — it’s about confidence, self-reliance, and building a life of dignity and pride.

ZANKEY'S LOBBY

Zankey’s Lobby was inspired by one of CRB’s very first individuals, Johnny Zankey.

When Johnny first began his employment journey, finding the right opportunity was not easy. During Darla’s job development efforts, she secured him a position at McDonald’s as a Lobby Attendant, a role that would change his life.

Today, Johnny has proudly maintained his employment for over 10 years. His dedication, consistency, and pride in his work represent everything Supported Employment stands for. Johnny’s journey reminds us that success is not defined by how quickly someone finds a job, but by the commitment to grow, show up, and stay the course.

CRB takes great pride in honoring Johnny’s legacy. Zankey’s Lobby stands as a tribute to perseverance, longevity,
and the belief that with the right support, individuals can build meaningful and lasting careers.
